Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council
Redcar Council’s aim was to reduce its annual water bill and understand when, how and where it was using water across its estate. The council asked us to help them to become more efficient and identify how savings could be made.
We installed our Automated Meter Reading (AMR) equipment at meters at key locations to help understand their out-of-hours water usage. By using our online web portal the Automated Meter Reading system identified a school was using water when it was closed due to a faulty battery in the water cisterns.
By replacing the battery, the council saved several £000’s across the year providing a return on investment in a matter of days.
