Tankered Waste: Accepted Waste Streams

Our waste treatment centres are authorised by the Environment Agency to accept a wide range of controlled waste streams, including hazardous waste. Our industry-leading facilities and approach mean you can be confident your business’s waste is being handled safely and sustainably.

Bran Sands treatment centre is authorised to accept the following types of tankered waste:

  • Aqueous waste from animal rendering
  • Waste from inorganic chemical manufacture (sodium & potassium hydroxide)
  • Waste from the MFSU of salts and their solutions and metallic oxides
  • Aqueous washings and mother liquors from supply and use of organics
  • Septic Tanks, Cesspool & Chemical Toilet Wastes
  • Other organic solvents, washing liquids and mother liquors
  • Aqueous waste from biodiesel production
  • Waste not otherwise specified from the manufacture of thermoplastic polymer (PTA Effluent)
  • Aqueous washing liquids from the manufacture and use of pharmaceuticals
  • Aqueous washing liquids and mother liquors from the manufacture and use of fine chemicals and chemical products
  • Waste not otherwise specified from manufacture of fine chemicals (IBC wash water)
  • Aqueous liquid waste containing ink
  • Aqueous liquid waste containing adhesives or sealants other than those mentioned 08 04 15
  • Wastes from transport, storage tanks & barrel cleaning
  • Waste not otherwise specified from storage tank cleaning (line washings)
  • Aqueous liquid waste for off-site treatment, other than those mentioned in 16 10 01
  • Waste not otherwise specified in the category for waste from incineration or pyrolysis of waste
  • Landfill leachate other than those mentioned in 19 07 02
  • Waste not otherwise specified (bund water)
  • Municipal waste not otherwise specified (Lagoon water and recycled pit washings)
